Unicorn

Install sun-java6

Add contrib non-free to /etc/apt/sources.list for the main repository.

# apt-get update
# apt-get install sun-java6-jre sun-java6-plugin sun-java6-jdk sun-java6-fonts

Install mercurial ant and ivy and tomcat

# apt-get install mercurial ant ivy tomcat6

Build

$ hg clone https://dvcs.w3.org/hg/unicorn
$ cd unicorn
$ export CLASSPATH=.:/usr/share/java/ivy.jar
$ ant retrieve default_conf war

Install

$ sudo cp dist/unicorn.war /var/lib/tomcat6/webapps/

Configure

/var/lib/tomcat6/webapps/unicorn/WEB-INF/classes/unicorn.properties

:!: unicorn uses the w3c-servers to validate - so validating local websites isn't possible (with forwarding rules)

ACCEPT_LOCAL_ADDRESSES = true

Restart tomcat

$ sudo /etc/init.d/tomcat6 restart
